Staying at the Torrington Caravan Park

T. 02 6734 6234 or M. 0498 472 347

If you are coming on the trip, then please put your name down on the Field Trip Notice on the Club Notice Board, located behind the Duty Officers Desk, at the Clubhouse.

If you are staying at the Torrington Caravan Park, then you need to book a spot with Lexi. If you ring her Mobile it just gives 1 clunk, then you need to leave a message for her to ring you back. Mobile reception at Torrington is not reliable!

As some of the areas at Torrington, we fossick in are NSW State Forest, you will need to purchase online, a Fossicking Licence. See: Forestry Corporation – Fossicking

Cost is $27.50 for a Family for 1 year.

Tools required are the usual Picks, shovels, sieves, etc.

It is a 5-hour drive from Brisbane to Torrington, via the Cunningham Gap H’way.

Torrington has no shops, the nearest is Deepwater, back on the New England H’way, where you turned right, to drive 30km to Torrington, so you need to be totally self-sufficient. The Caravan Park has Power, and a Toilet Shower Block, that is all we need for a comfortable base, as we will be spending most of our time out Fossicking.

As the elevation is over 3,500ft above sea level, it can get cool at any time of the year, so be prepared with suitable warm clothes and bedding!

If you have any questions, then just contact me.
